Together with the Swedish educational institute SENSUS we have developed an exciting project. End of August we will invite three Swedish newcomer bands to Berlin to show them the fascinating music sights of Berlin, introduce them to relevant players of the music industry, take them to Pop-Kultur and let them perform a gig at Urban Spree under the title: DIE NEUEN SCHWEDEN. For you, to get to know them better, we have interviewed the three Swedish bands. Today we want to introduce Taxi Taxi to you, even more than we already have in a past post.

On Saturday, 15th of august, Taxi Taxi will do an instragram takeover on our Nodic by Nature instagram. This takeover will be all about their new music video, since on Friday, 14th of august, they are having the video premiere in a cinema in stockholm, followed by a party.

1. Siblings fight, that’s for sure! So, how is it being in a band with your sister?
I’d say it’s pretty easy. Or, it is all we know… We do a lot of work apart from each other, and when we present ideas for each other, we very rarely disagree with each other. I remember one time, Johanna got annoyed with me when we were in a taxi cab, because I wanted to chill in the backseat so she had to do all the talking with the driver. If we fight, it is about these types of social matters :P

2. What does “the new Swedish sound” sound like? Who are the new Swedes in your opinion?
Hm hard to say, there’s everything, from postpunk to rnb… Autotune…

3. Why did you guys decided to start up your own record label?   
To experience artistic freedom and be able to release music and create things without having it approved by other people. We also save time by not waiting for other record labels to come along.

4. What do you expect from your trip to Berlin?
Sun & Fun.

5. Tell us about your plans for 2015?
We are having a premiere for our new music video in August, made by Swedish artist Marlena Lampinen. We are also finishing up songs for our next EP, which we are planning to record in the fall. Johanna is also working a lot with our record label, we had a release of a cassette by Swedish group Swap Babies 2 months ago, and in a few weeks we are releasing an EP by a new fantastic musician called MISSA.
