Last time the Norwegian quintet Highasakite dropped an album was 2014, the highly acclaimed ‘Silent Treatment’. Now they are back with their new album ‘Camp Echo’, which was released last Friday.
The album is a 9 track-travel between highly energetic songs like ‘Samurai Swords’ and ballads such as ‘God Don’t Leave Me’. All of them are lead by the strong voice of Ingrid Håvik, that brings a both sharp but at the same time soft vibe to the album. There are clear references to both, the synthetic and electronic traditions, as well as darker and more mystical tracks to be found on the album - all accompanied by strong and poetic lyrics. We listen on repeat!
