1) Wege nach Wiepersdorf - 08.04 - 07.06.2016 - Finnland Institut, Berlin | Website

Exhibition about mobility and artist residencies, provided by Finnland based contemporary artists.

 

2) Frech, wild und wunderbar - 12.04. - 30.06.2016 - Felleshus, Berlin | Website

A Swedish interactive family exhibition about Swedish children’s book characters.

3) Thought without Name - 26.04. - 07.05.2016 - Galerie Pleiku, Berlin | Website

“The space in my paintings is both three-dimensional and pictorial. The viewer can open and close the ‘doors’ or ‘wings’ of the works, in which the spatiotemporal character is sedimented.” - Kaija Mäenpää (Finnland).

4) Nordischer Klang - 05.05. - 15.05.2016 - Greifswald | Website 

With music, exhibitions, seminars, films and much more, the festival features artists from the five Nordic countries.

 

5) X-Jazz Festival - 05.05. - 08.05.2016 - Berlin | Facebook | Website

On its debut in May 2014, XJAZZ Festival instantly became Berlin’s biggest Jazz festival – with 48 bands and almost 10,000 visitors. This year with Scandinavian artists Kenneth Dahl and Kristin Amparo.

 

6) The Analogy between Bulbs and Buds - 07.05.2016 - Botanischer Volkspark, Berlin |  Website

A show about distance, appropriation, arrangement, interaction, simulation, stereotypes and performance in the art and plant worlds—in intimate dialog with the botanical and architectural exhibits of the Volkspark Blankenfelde-Pankow.

Jon Fosse’s novel ” Morning and Evening” is a sad yet hopeful text about life and death.

The Norwegian indie-pop band mixes electronic sounds with strings and acoustic piano.

 

10) Kiasmos - 14.05.2016 - Watergate, Berlin | Facebook | Website

Ólafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen have dedicated themselves to explore the area in-between Ólafur’s more acoustic, piano-based solo work and Janus’s synth-heavy electro pop, with their collaborative electronic project Kiasmos.

German-Swedish band 1000 GRAM, pronounced tusen gram, are releasing their new EP “Grebbestad” on May, 6th, which is followed by a tour through Germany.

 

12) Into the Wind: Nordic children literature days - 25.05 - 03.06.2016 - Humboldt-Bibliothek, Berlin | Website

Over ten days, outstanding writers and illustrators from Åland, Denmark, The Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and the northern European Sámi will be presenting themselves and their work to the public. A varied events program opens up a new perspective on the Nordic countries’ cultural diversity, visible in literature and illustration.
