“hjälten is having this feeling that something is about to happen, but you’re the only one who knows about it. It’s me, and you.” -hjälten

Though ‘hjälten’ means ‘hero’ in Swedish this statement above is how Daniel Björkman a.k.a. hjälten describes his chosen artist name. hjälten was born in Kungälv outside of Gothenburg. He already released two EP’s and towards the end of this years’ summer he will release his first full length mixtape called ‘hjältar’. Recently he shot a video for the first single of the mixtape, named ‘Mitt Liv’.

The 5 minute video shows two protagonists, a man and a dog, wandering around in the forest. In fact, there’s a lot of nature shown in this video. For me, the nature symbolizes where we come from, where we go. It’s the start and it’s the end. hjälten says the following about the video:

”You lose something. They take you down. Never get it back. Never give it up. Though you’ll never see it again. Hesperides & Heracles make you live forever when everything else dies away. But you know what you have to do to get back up. It’s destiny. It’s Luna. It’s Gaia. They can never take that away from you. From us. You know, we just do it.”
