Back in March Swedish indie / folk duo Flora Cash delivered one of our favourite albums of the year: ‘Can Summer Love Last Forever?’ - mesmerizing melodies & ethereal production skills combined with moody guitars and the bittersweet voices from Cole Randall and Shpresa Lleshaj on top. Flora Cash are exploring the diversity of human relationships in their music, even the darkest moments in life. By putting all their personal feelings into their music, Cole and Shpresa are creating delicate but powerful songs everyone can relate to. ‘Sadness Is Taking Over’ is the brand new track of the Stockholm-based duo. It’s also the first taste of their upcoming new album, which will come out next year on Icons Creating Evil Art. Welcome back, Cole & Shpresa!
“‘Sadness Is Taking Over’ came originally from Shpresa reflecting on one of my worst days, at the peak of the anxiety. The chorus was the first thing to come. She’s discussing the fact that she can literally see the pain in my eyes, my mouth. My verses came as a kind of response and my own reflection on the situation. The whole song is really a conversation between us about a very dark time. But it’s also very universal as it touches to some extent on areas unrelated to our particular situation and we think a lot of people will relate to the feelings.” - Cole Randall (Flora Cash)
