Lately, a lot of Toves are showing up in the Swedish musical sky. But please don’t mix this one up with Tove Lo or Tove Styrke. Disco-like electro-pop beats, a touch of the eighties and powerful melodies are what makes the music of Tove Ask unique. The ambitious artist from Malmö, Sweden, released her 4-track debut EP ‘By Myself’ on the 3rd of July via Sonic PTM Records. By the age of 19, Tove has already performed as an actress, dancer, singer, has written her own songs and featured Junobit‘s track ‘Daylight’.

1. Explain the evolution of Tove Ask in 5 words?
Dreams, Life, Dedication, Love, Nutella.
2. What song would you love to have written?
Bohemian rhapsody, without question. I just love the harmonies and variety of sounds; it truly is a master piece.
3. Is there a typical Scandinavian sound?
I would say that Scandinavia has many different sounds. We have a long history of making music that seems to be appealing to all kind of people within many different musical genres, and not just pop.
4. When did you first realize you were in love with me? (The Legends. Last week’s Artist of the Week)
I’m so sorry but I just realized that I’m better off – By Myself! 8)
