Pale Honey, the Gothenburg based band released their debut album ‘Pale Honey’ last week and this is some dirty music made with class. Tuva Lodmark and Nelly Daltrey, have been playing together in various forms since elementary school and since they dropped ‘Youth’ they’ve become the topic of conversations on many lips. Their new album ‘Pale Honey’ consists of 10 tracks, all having an indie-rock, unpredictable sound with scratchy guitars and hard drums. To quote my colleague: “It feels like they took a rough version of their music, put it in a pan, brewed it all up, and now we are left with the finest, tastiest reduction“.
We’re really excited to have these cool girls as our Artist of the Week for this week and you can find their album here on our AOTW Spotify Playlist. If you (like us) can’t get enough of them you can also follow their day here on our nordic_by_nature instagram, because guess what, Pale Honey is taking over.
As usual we have been asking Pale Honey our five scratchy questions, and here are their five scratchy answers.
1. Explain the evolution of Pale Honey in 5 words?
Teenagers -> mischievousness -> suddenlymanygigs -> produceranders ->conquertheworld. See, totally five words. Easy. ;)
2. What song would you love to have written?
If Only - Queens of the Stone Age
3. Is there a typical Scandinavian sound?
We don’t think so, it varies between the genres but it seem like the Scandinavians are pretty good at making music for the international crowd.
4. What is your spirit animal?
A super-cozy, wine-drinking cat. Meow.
5. What question would you like to ask next week’s Artist of the Week?
If you could choose a band or artist to play with beside your own projects, what band or artist would it be?
