BROKEN TWIN - LIVE

For those of you not yet familiar with the Casual Concert concept by the DSO (Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester), it’s a concert series that invites musicians into the Berliner Philharmonie space, to play a one-off special gig in the lounge - after the orchestra's classical concert in the big hall. One of last year’s performances was Icelandic singer Asgeir and for the first one of 2014, they’ve invited Broken Twin. The Danish musician whose real name is Majke, shows her vulnerability in her songwriting, adding an extra delicate touch to the already minimal sound of her guitar. This is a skill that she also manages to transfer across to her intimate live shows. Last week she released her track Glimpse Of A Time that’s off her upcoming album May, from which she’ll be previewing some songs on the night.

If you wanna know how Leonard Cohen in young and as a woman looks like, you better write us an email to [email protected] to win the 1x2 giveaway tickets!

NENEH CHERRY - LIVE

Big things are always thrilling news. But even more thrilling is to get the chance of talking about them in our newsletter! Something like, Swedish music icon Neneh Cherry playing at Berghain. If these words didn’t have any effect on you, feel bad about it. Not everyone can say that they have 25 years of musical career on their backs (yeah, totally average) and simply, reappear with a new album after 16 years since the last one came out. Neneh is almost in her fifties but hey, she is not done yet.

We are giving away 1x2 tickets for her show at Certain People in Berghain and you might have a chance to get them. Write us an email to [email protected]

EAT, SLEEP, DIE - BERLIN FEMINIST FILM FESTIVAL

If you have a lack of cinema after Berlinale, we have a really exciting proposal for you: Berlin Feminist Film Week! which basically, was created under the idea of paying tribute to all the wonderfully talented, inspiring kick-ass women out there. Movies from all over the world female directors will be shown around the city between the 8th and 13th of March. A good representation of the festival is the Swedish filmmaker Gabriela Pichlers and her production Äta Sova Dö (Eat, Sleep, Die). LOW ROAR - LIVE

There is this powerful aura in any music project from Iceland. It seems like the landscapes and shapes of this cold northern island have a direct influence in any melody or sound created in there. Low Roar seems not to be an exception of this rule. Nothing more than a keyboard, a soft drum and a shy voice is what creates this special gloomy, black and white scene where you wanna get lost in. When almost about to release their second album and after playing at Sonar Festival in Reykjavik, Low Roar will be at Urban Spree in a week.

We are giving away 2x2 tickets for this concert, just send us an email to [email protected] and (maybe) be one of the winners!

MON 10 MAR | Urban Spree | Revaler Str. 99, F-hain | 20:00h | Facebook Event

YUNG LEAN AND THE SAD BOYS - LIVE

You might think we like to brag about how young and talented Scandinavian upcoming artists are, but thing is guys, that’s a fact. In this case, it is time for the actually extremely stunning Stockholm rapper Yung Lean. This kid goes to school and likes to play video games, casual. But, there is a bit more about Yung Lean that you should know: He is a big fan of Arizona Iced Tea. He likes to write lyrics about drugs, alcohol and bitches (bro). He also enjoys doing ugly visuals that somehow are impossible to stop staring at. This surreal combination would even fascinate all those hip hop haters out there.

Yung Lean and The Sad Boys will be live in Berlin in March and we have 2x2 tickets to give away for ya. Just send us an email to [email protected] and be patient!
