This August a new Danish, Copenhagen-based radio station popped up. It’s called The Lake, and it’s founded by Kasper Vang (artist), Jan Høgh Stricker (radio journalist) together with Mads Brauer, Casper Clausen and Rasmus Stolberg from the band Efterklang. The concept of this new radio channel is to have a sanctuary specifically for experimental and inspiring music, sound and radio.
“THE LAKE IS A PLACE FOR MUSIC AND SOUNDS”
There’s something going on there 24 hours a day, and it’s broadcasted to the whole world. There’s room for experimental music and sound from all decades of recorded audio, and the station often features live performances and in general randomized content: no preprogrammed playlists or shows. So if you are looking to be surprised and challenged by experimental and NON-commercial music, sound and sound art, this might be the thing for you. The world needs inspiring and challenging sound and music, so go give this new radio broadcaster a try: www.thelakeradio.com
