Although it is still Thursday, we’ve already got some serious Friday vibes going on for you: We are pleased to premiere the new single ‘City Lights‘ of the Finnish indie-pop artist NIINA (Niina Alavillamo) from Tampere, which will be released worldwide tomorrow (March 10). ‘City Lights‘ follows Niina’s debut single ‘Dopamine‘ that came out in May last year.
Niina has a background in punk-rock, having played in a girl band called So Long Sisters. After the band had split up, Niina embarked on a solo career - this time going for a more glitzy, electro-pop sound. ‘City Lights‘, with its dancey beats, shimmering synths, and groovy guitars, is a paradigm example of modern pop: rich in its overall sound, catchy in its melody and dynamics. The track tells a story of a woman who has lost her way and just wants to get to the place where everything is possible. It is a party anthem that takes you from the daily ”same old, same old” dancing to the big city lights. So put on your best dancing shoes & get ready to be carried away by the beats of ‘City Lights‘!
