If Warpaint, Waxahatchee, Girlpool & the likes frequent your playlist, here’s another name you should know: Linn Koch-Emmery. This young Swedish artist is a hidden indie-rock gem. Her new single “Under the Sun” – officially out today – is a compilation of shoegaze, garage and alternative rock influences with a good deal of laid-backness reminiscent of Courtney Barnett. Described by Linn as “probably the most evil break-up song ever written,” this track is rebellious, bold, and catchy. It’s a kind of song that makes you want to put on your best leather jacket and shades and do something daringly cool. Sounds like a perfect start into the weekend, right?
Linn’s debut EP “Boys” will be released on October 20 via independent label from Gothenburg Welfare Sounds & Records.
