Iceland is a country filled with treasures, cute stereotypes, Björk, music and nature. We are happy to bring one of those treasures – Icelandic Electronic music – to Berlin on Friday, 4th of October to Kreuzberg’s Basement. The Icelandic Electronic scene has not always been so available as it is today. Started in the early 90’s Sigurbjörn Þórgrímsson used to be an inspiration for a lot of Electronic artists in Iceland. With remixes of Sigur Rós and as the founder of the Weirdcore scene, Sigurbjörn has build a substantial platform for artists to create and perform their music live. Thanks to this, we are able to present four brilliant artists, as all of them in some way have been in touch with the Weirdcore scene. All of dem are part of Möller Records who today has become the leading troop in the Icelandic electronic scene.
Futuregrapher – is an Iceland’s active producer, Grapevine magazine quotes his music as “fucking brilliant” and he is one of the founders of Möller Records.
Bistro Boy – makes music inspired of 80’s rooted tunes and electro beats and if we are lucky his history of piano playing might show.
Skurken – is influenced of corny 80’s ballads, 90’s drill & base and old computer game themes. He is also the founder of Möller Records together with Futuregrapher.
Steve Sampling – creates electronic beats in the mix of Hip Hop and Soul.
In case you plan to fly with Iceland Air, you will be very likely listening to these guys cuz all are represented in the Iceland Airs music portfolio on 40.000 feet up in the air. BUT rather save your dance moves for the club, with us!
