Mikko Joensuu comes from Finland, but while listening to his latest single ‘House Of Fire‘, one could be easily convinced that he is from some distant and mysterious galaxy: that’s just how cosmic, ethereal, otherworldly his music is. ‘House Of Fire‘ is epic and groundbreaking not only because of its duration - the track is good 15 minutes long! - but also because of the vast, limitless soundscape that it gradually creates, step by step, minute by minute. This soundscape is neither decidedly dark nor light; its mood is transcendent and glimmery. Mikko skilfully combines elegant neoclassic and ambient sound with modern shimmering synth and electronica.
