One of our favorite Norwegian bands Kakkmaddafakka just dropped another single from their soon to be released album „KMF“ - and the boys from the beautiful city of Bergen did not disappoint us with „Young You“.
While staying faithful to their usual melodic style, this track does sound somewhat more mature from what we are normally used to hear from them. Once again it is a danceable piano driven Indie-Pop-Song, but this time with a pinch of melancholy. The song deals with finding love at a sweet young age and breaking up again as it seems not to have been the right time.
Oh, luscious emotional ambivalence: on one hand „Young You“ makes you want to get back together with your first love and on the other hand it makes you want to explore the world on your own - especially after you’ve seen the music video where skylines of multiple - very appealing - cities are shown. Wanderlust!
However the song is highly enjoyable, wether you dance in a club holding a beer in your hand or you lay in the grass and calmly nod your head to the rhythm. Quintessence: a break up may not only be an end but also a beginning (and timing is one of love’s toughest components).
