It’s finally time for the debut EP called “Blue is the Saddest Colour” from singer, songwriter and producer Ji Nilsson. The five songs on this musical master piece include the single “Special Kind”, three unreleased tracks and the hit “Heartbreakfree”. The hair is still blue and her fascination with the sea and the mermaids are as strong as ever. But when compared with the summer single “Perfume” these songs have a newfound depth, a beautiful autumn darkness that gives Ji even more colours to paint with. Yes, Blue is the saddest colour. But it can also be the most beautiful, romantic and exciting colour of them all.

What are the images on the EP cover meant to evoke?
What music were you all listening to at the time you recorded the record?
I almost never listen to songs when I record my songs, It’s too distracting and I feel like I have no space in my brain for that when I’m in a that kind of process. But one song I listened to a lot when I was away of the studio and out with my friends dancing was Classic Man by Jidenna.
What’s next for you? Do you currently have more material in the can slated for a future release?
I’m writing music with my super talented friend Marlene for her new releases, I will release a collab with Stockholm-based genious producer Woodz later in november, and after christmas I’ll be working on my next EP.
Where or how do you find creative inspiration?
What question would you like to ask next weeks Artist of the Week?
What would you like to do for a living if you didn’t work with music? And why?
